21 jumpstreet
so i just saw the trailer for 21 jumpstreet and thought, 'no way,' mainly because of the two actors in it.
i like most flicks that jonah hill has been in (superbad, knocked up, and moneyball), but i'm not so sure about this remake of one of my fave ya tv shows.
what made jumpstreet so good (yes, totally shallow reasons) was the hotties: depp,greico, you get it.
i can't even go as far as to say that hill is the deluise of the show, because even peter was a cutie. and is it terrible to say, i almost prefer jonah when he's on the heavy side? now, don't get me wrong, girls... tatum's a hottie, but i 'm more excited about his abs than his acting chops.
likely will wait until this one hits redbox. sorry fellas.

easy a
so you know i have uber-love for john hughes...
i also adore emma stone. simple conclusion: i looooove easy a.
i know this isn't a new film and it's been on dvd for-evs. but that's too bad, cuz i just love this dang flick. i have it on my dvr and watch it repeatedly. (like just this weekend). funny thing...my step-son almost launched WW III, because he deleted it from the dvr the first time i recorded it. (don't worry, we signed a peace treaty when i found it on dish and recorded it again; a declaration of, 'thou shall not mess with my easy a' was unmistakably understood this go around.)
it never gets old. this is the kind of script or book that i would die to write. it pays wonderful homage to all the john hughes teen flicks, which enamored me when i was an impressionable young chick and that i worship still today.
emma stone is so adorably sardonic and easy on the eyes. her comedic timing is spot on. and i gotta love me some woodchuck/lobster todd--penn badgley--right girls? i was totally screaming at violet, 'uh--hello!--lobster todd is so into you; wake up,girl!'
this movie definitely gets an easy a from me. and who wouldn't have killed to have totally hip, awesome parents like stanley tucci and partricia clarkson.

still on break from writing
sorry but i've had a bad case of writer's block, which is compounded by the fact i've had zero time to work on anything writing, other than beta reading (which is at least doing something for writing that isn't just creeping around the shark waters or spying on ms nelson, etc...).
with the holidays, performance planning at work, the hubby starting a new business, and all the stuff with the kids school, etc... i'm just a mom more than a writer right now, so please forgive me...
